Gain hands-on experience through the Officer Development Program (ODP) at MidFirst Bank. Whether you’re a college student looking for an internship, a recent graduate needing experience in banking or a young professional hoping to develop skills to advance your career, the program offers many opportunities to learn.  

Participants will receive an education in the fundamentals of banking through on-the-job training and instruction from professionals with a combined 50+ years of experience. The Officer Development Program is designed with your success in mind, helping you build the foundation to excel in a career in private and commercial banking, risk management or corporate finance.

Officer Development Program Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
  • Minimum cumulative 3.25 GPA
  • 15+ hours of accounting and finance; minimum of nine hours in accounting, including Intermediate I
  • Demonstrated extracurricular achievement
  • Proven analytical ability and attention to detail
  • High level of initiative and accountability
  • Results-driven, team-oriented and client-focused approach
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Summer Internship Program

The Summer Internship Program is also available in all markets and offers qualified students the opportunity to integrate academic learning with hands-on, practical experience in a fast-paced commercial banking environment. High-performing interns are eligible for full-time positions in the ODP.  

The Summer Internship Program includes a comprehensive overview of the banking industry via case studies, departmental rotations, executive briefings, strategy meetings and special projects using business and industry research, compliance monitoring and financial analysis. Participants will engage in individual and team presentations to senior and executive level management. They will also receive one-on-one mentoring from recent ODP graduates, program managers and HR career counselors during the summer.

Qualifications:

  • Completed junior year of a bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum cumulative 3.25 GPA
    • Accounting and/or finance coursework
  • Available for 32 to 40-hour workweek; eight to 10 week duration
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and excel in a deadline-driven environment
    • Demonstrated extracurricular achievement
    • Proven analytical ability and attention to detail
    • High level of initiative and accountability
    • Results-driven, team-oriented and client-focused approach

The Officer Development and Summer Internship programs are available in Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, Colorado and California. Standard MidFirst recruiting periods are mid-September to the end of October and mid-February to the end of March each year.
