MIDFIRST BANK ACHIEVES $1 MILLION MILESTONE IN DONATIONS TO THE OKLAHOMA AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION
May 2, 2025
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – MidFirst Bank customers in Oklahoma have helped raise more than $1 million in donations from MidFirst to support the American Heart Association (AHA) through the MidFirst Bank Heart Visa® Debit Card program. With the Heart Card program, MidFirst has donated, in total, more than $1.3 million to aid in the fight against heart disease and stroke in Oklahoma and Arizona.
"Every nonprofit organization has been able to achieve their mission because of those that support them passionately. The impact of the American Heart Association here in Oklahoma City would not be possible without the intentional generosity of MidFirst Bank,” said Mark Fried, AHA Executive Director.
"The CPR kiosk at Science Museum Oklahoma is there only because of MidFirst's commitment to this lifesaving skill. The Heart Card milestone they have achieved aligns with our mission to be a relentless force for longer, healthier lives, and we thank MidFirst for making heart health a community priority."
Heart disease can affect anyone. According to the AHA, heart disease is the number one cause of death worldwide, and stroke ranks second globally. For more than 100 years, the American Heart Association has been helping families and communities thrive by fighting heart disease and stroke.
The AHA is dedicated to promoting cardiovascular health and fighting heart disease and stroke. The organization includes more than 2,900 employees and 35 million volunteers. As the nation’s largest voluntary organization, the AHA has more than $5 billion invested in research and has a substantial impact as the largest not-for-profit funding source in the U.S.
“MidFirst Bank is proud to partner with the American Heart Association and the lifesaving work the organization supports,” said MidFirst Bank Chairman and CEO Jeff Records, “we are thrilled to have exceeded the $1 million milestone in Oklahoma through our customers’ use of the Heart Card to make their everyday purchases.”
Customers who open a MidFirst checking account with direct deposit and use their Heart Visa Debit Card automatically generate a $50 donation from MidFirst Bank to the American Heart Association. Plus, with each Heart Card transaction, MidFirst donates five cents when the card is used at least six times per month. Learn more by visiting midfirst.com/heart.
