President
Hal has more than 35 years of experience in the credit risk industry, where he has focused the last 15 years on healthcare lending, promoting access to capital for projects that provide essential services for both private and public purposes. Hal is an advocate for quality healthcare and elderly care to all areas within the nation, including rural, metropolitan and urban centers. Hal earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Oklahoma.
Chris Altom
Senior Vice President
Chris is a senior vice president of MidFirst Bank National Healthcare lending. He has more than 20 years of commercial banking experience and 17 years of experience related to healthcare finance. In his current position, he focuses on business development in healthcare, including hospitals, surgery centers, medical office space and senior housing. Chris works with a broad range of healthcare-related clients, including medical real estate developers and operating companies. He previously worked at Stillwater National Bank, where he held multiple roles within the healthcare lending team, including business development, portfolio management and credit analysis.
Tonya Pfieffer
Vice President
Tonya is a vice president of the Healthcare Lending team with MidFirst Bank, bringing more than 25 years of banking experience with a specialized focus on hospitals, long-term care and senior living facilities. In her current role, she oversees new Healthcare Lending relationships from closing through the life of the loan, ensuring a smooth transition and ongoing client support. Tonya earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Amber J. Smith
First Vice President
Amber is a business development officer and senior relationship manager with more than 25 years of banking experience. She has considerable experience managing an extensive healthcare portfolio that includes hospitals, surgery centers and senior living centers. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University.
Amy Wilson
Vice President
With over 25 year of extensive experience in the banking industry, Amy serves as a Relationship Manager on the Healthcare Lending team, specializing in tailored financial solutions for the healthcare sector. She focuses on cultivating strategic partnerships with clients across the industry, with particular expertise in specialty hospitals, surgery centers, and senior living facilities.
Amy leverages her deep industry knowledge and extensive experience to help clients navigate complex financial landscapes and achieve their growth objectives.
She hold a bachelor's degree from East Central University and earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Oklahoma Christian University.
Garrett Gunn
Assistant Vice President
Garrett is an assistant vice president with the Healthcare Lending team at MidFirst Bank and has more than seven years of banking experience. Garrett specializes in building long-term relationships and creating tailored solutions for all businesses within the healthcare industry – predominantly related to hospitals, senior housing facilities and ambulatory surgery centers. He is a native Oklahoman and earned a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Corri Edwards
Executive Assistant
Corri Edwards is an executive assistant with 25 years of dedicated experience within the financial industry. Currently focused on the healthcare lending sector, she bridges the gap between lending operations and strategic administrative management. Corri provides support for the officers while fostering relationships with clients.
Silas Maple
Credit Analyst
Silas is an experienced credit analyst for the healthcare lending team. He focuses on serving clients within healthcare systems, senior living facilities, long-term care and ambulatory surgery centers. Silas earned his Master of Business Administration from The University of Oklahoma. When not assisting clients, he enjoys visiting local museums and many of Oklahoma’s hiking trails.
Jenna Berkgren
Credit Analyst
Jenna is a credit analyst on the Healthcare Lending team, with more than seven years of experience in banking and accounting. She focuses on supporting clients across the healthcare system, including hospitals, surgery centers, medical office properties and senior living communities.
Jenna earned her BBA in accounting from Fort Hays State University. She began her career as a public accountant, specializing in tax services and business operations. She brings valuable experience in financial analysis, regulatory and compliance considerations and operational insight – enabling her to provide well‑informed support to both clients and internal teams.
Jessica Martinez
Executive Assistant
Jessica is an executive assistant with the MidFirst Healthcare Lending team. She has nine years of banking experience, including four years of specializing in TRID compliance. She has extensive knowledge of loan processing, real estate documentation and executive support background in financial services. Jessica is also a U.S. Navy Veteran who served for eight years and possesses a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration.
Outside of work, Jessica is active in her community and enjoys spending time outdoors with activities like running, hiking and participating in marathons.
